BRUSH HMA bv, located at Ridderkerk in the Netherlands, is the designated Centre of Excellence for 4-pole generators with ratings between 10MVA and 65MVA. Stork Gears & Services was hired for the complete modification of the testbed gearbox that simulates the turbine. The aim of the project was to modify and speed up the existing gearbox according to customer's requirements. After completion the gearbox was speeded up to 5093 RPM. Scope Complete modification of the internal housing Shaft calculations and design of new input and output shafts New bearings for the input and output shaft New gear design according to our engineering model New bearing type, elliptical (lemon) bore bearings New PT100 temperature sensors Internal balancing and testing on our in-house testing plant Advantages Due to our extensive knowledge of gearbox and turbine technology we were able to offer our customer full service, from complete replacement of the internal works to bearing analysis, all within a timeline of only 3 months. |   |
