Gearbox repair of cruiseliner propulsion engine gearbox (600 rpm)

Saga Shipping Company Ltd. the owner of the cruise ship 'Saga Pearl II', formerly known as 'Astoria',  contacted us to perform an inspection of the propulsion engine gearboxes. Our inspection team inspected the Lohmann & Stolterfoht GVA 155 So gearboxes on board the ship in the harbour of Gibraltar. The portside propulsion engine gearbox turned out to be severly damaged and needed to be replaced. Stork Gears & Services was asked to reverse engineer the nr 4 portside engine gearbox and was given 3 months to finish the project.

Gibraltar - Stork Gears & Services was asked to inspect the propulsion engine gearboxes on board the cruise ship Astoria, lying in the harbour of Gibraltar. This big cruise ship has 4 main engines connected to 2 gearboxes. The inspection revealed that the portside engine gearbox was severly damaged and needed to be replaced.

Stork Gears & Services was asked to reverse engineer the portside engine gearbox, a Lohmann & Stoltefoht GVA 1500 So.

Swansea - the final assembly work on the gearboxes will be done on board of the ship in the harbour of Swansea, United Kingdom.
