Step 6 (Day 30-33)Gearbox assembly and advanced testrunThe gearbox with new parts is assembled. Bearing and gear clearance are adjusted and contact patterns are recorded. We can grind the gears in our gear-cutting department, if, due to circumstances, the gear clearance or contact patterns are not in accordance with the specifications. This will result in the gearbox being within the specifications. Once the gearbox has been assembled correctly, it will be tested for 4 hours on our testbed. |

Step 7 (Day 34-39)Transportation & onsite assembly of the gearbox and related partsAll results will be contained within our report, which will be handed over to the client complete with all documents (including any certificates) after the overhaul. The gearbox and related parts will be assembled on board. The ship will be able to set sail again after just six weeks! |
* Reverse Engineering If in some cases the client does not have the technical data of the gearbox to be overhauled. We therefore use reverse engineering to "copy" the existing parts to be replaced. This means that these new parts at least comply with the specifications of the original parts. A delivery time of one day is guaranteed for a simple gear and three weeks for carbonised or nitrated internal works. |
