Cutter Suction Dredger

The vessel is a IHC Cutter Suction Dredger operating at the east coast of Singapore for the Singapore Changi International Airport Terminal 3 project. The bearings of the impeller shaft seized and the resulting heat built-up was transmitted to the clutchbox causing severe damages on the pads, shaft, & labyrinth seal. The complete clutch coupling, bearings, seals and shaft have to be totally replaced. Stork Gears & Services Asia Pte Ltd was first hired to conduct an inspection on the condition of the clutchbox and subsequently to carry out the repair and replacement of all the damaged parts.
