is Singapore MRT whose mission is to provide mass rapid transit
passenger service along major high density travel corridors in
Singapore in order to satisfy the needs of the travelling public for a
safe, reliable and user-friendly MRT system at competitive fares.
Gearboxes are used in the traction of their equipment between the electric motor drive and the wheels. High reliability and availability of their equipment is of utmost importance to ensure smooth and on time operations of the equipment operator. During scheduled maintenance at the workshop of the customer it was discovered that various pinion gears showed extensive damage at the teeth. During various technical discussions we showed the customer our knowledge of and experience with gears including examples of various damages and their causes. The customer’s high standard of professionalism in their operations, maintenance and knowledge of equipment equally impressed us. We were allowed to quote for new pinion gears and, following their evaluation, were selected soon to deliver pinion gears. The customer thus realised a considerable improvement of both delivery time and cost price versus the previous deliveries from their OEM while maintaining the high, required standards of their products.
