A German vessel lay in the port of Buenos Aires with a damaged reduction gearbox. The 22 ton gearbox was sent to Stork Gears & Services by airplane for a fast repair. The OEM offered a new expensive gearbox. Stork Gears & Services repaired the existing gearbox in just 8 weeks time. This work was done for just a fraction of the cost of a newly built gearbox. This was made possible due to the fact that Stork Gears & Services used 60% of the existing parts that were not damaged.
